How to make every run count

Tapping Generate is the only action that uses a run. Everything before it — your voice profile, your platform choice, how you phrase your idea — is free to get right. So the runs you lose aren't lost to the tool. They're lost to tapping Generate before the idea was actually ready.

1. Give it the details, not just the topic

Vague input gets you a generic post you'll want to run again. Specific input gets you a post you can use straight away.

Instead of: "New stock"
Try: "New stock arrived, special until Friday, R45 each"

2. Decide your platform before you generate

Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Instagram each get their own style. If you genuinely need the same idea on two platforms, that's two runs by design, not a mistake. But know which platform you need first — don't generate once per platform "just to see."

Instead of: generating the same idea 4 times, once per platform, to compare
Try: deciding "this is a WhatsApp post" first, then generating once

3. One language per run

PostSmart mirrors the language you type or speak in. Decide upfront which language this post needs.

Instead of: generating in English, then generating again in Afrikaans for the same post
Try: deciding your audience first — "this one's for my Afrikaans customers" — and speaking or typing in that language from the start

4. Brainstorm outside, refine inside

If you're not sure how to phrase something, rough it out in free Gemini or ChatGPT first, then paste only the best version into PostSmart.

Instead of: typing a half-formed thought into PostSmart and generating to "see what comes out"
Try: "New fridge stock, R2 500, layby available, delivery Saturdays" — worked out elsewhere, pasted in once

5. Small edits after generating don't cost you anything

If a post is 90% right, fix the last word or date yourself after pasting it in.

Instead of: tapping Generate again because the price was wrong
Try: copy the post, change "R45" to "R55" yourself, paste it in

6. Load your voice profile properly, the first time

This is the one setup step that shapes every post after it. Answer the 3 questions properly — rushing it means every post needs more editing, or another run to get closer to your tone.

7. Check your counter before you sit down to post

If you're planning a week of content, glance at your green counter first. Knowing what's left helps you decide whether to batch several posts now or space them out.
